Ownership~

“OWNERSHIP!” a poem 8 July 2019 – Maundy!

“Show that YOU OWN IT! Show! that it’s YOURS;

Show – It’s NOT all (pause) ‘smoke-n- mir-rors!’

Your name’s on it! YOU – are THE Owner!

(Doesn’t-that just ‘give-you-a-boner?’)

So – WORK IT! CARE FOR IT! MAKE IT – YOUR OWN!”

Well, the way I look at it:

(1) It’s JUST ON LOAN!

“On loan” from The-Lord?!?! Sure! I’ll-be a-“reasonable” stew-ard,

But-I-won’t-make-myself-“sick-over-it!” I’m just a little [blank] turd!

(2) IF I thought “more of myself,” I would manage and scheme,

Organize! Categorize! and – fulfill everyone’s dream,

There-are-folks-who-say: “You’re-brilliant! We-expect so-much from-you!”

My response? “Hey, I’ve been THERE! I ain’t goin’ through,

No more o’ your – hoops, your-bells-expectations-‘n’-whistles!”

(That OWNERSHIP BIT!? just-means: endless-work-‘n’- hard-thistles!)

Sure, I’ve-heard-of STRIVING! and FULFILLING! and: “Desires-of-all-Ages!”

Well, I got news – for “The Prophets” – and “Sages:”

“Suck on THIS PUPPY, ’cause you are all full,

Of all sorts of rubbish – and opinions and bull!

Sure! EVEN-IF-I-OWN-EVERYTHING, I’m-not-losing-sleep!

Get you a shovel; [I think] your ‘bull’s’ pretty deep!”
