#AceBreakingNews – Missile that Fell in Poland Reportedly Launched by Ukrainian Troops according to Almanar News report

The missile that fell in eastern Poland was launched by the Ukrainian military, the Associated Press news agency reported on Wednesday, citing US officials.

The preliminary data indicate that a Ukrainian projectile was launched to intercept a Russian missile targeting a Ukrainian energy infrastructure site, the news agency reported.

As the Associated Press reported, this information runs counter to the previous statements by US officials that allegedly a Russian missile had fallen on Polish territory.

The Polish Foreign Ministry earlier claimed that a Russian-made missile had allegedly crashed in the village of Przewodow in eastern Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship close to the border with Ukraine, killing two people. However, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the missile’s exact affiliation had not been established yet.

Biden Says Missile Unlikely Fired from Russia

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said that the available preliminary information contested the claims that the missile falling in Poland was launched from Russia. As the US leader said, “It is unlikely in the lines of the trajectory that it was fired from Russia.”

The missile that hit Polish territory on Tuesday night had been fired by Ukrainian troops, the Russian Defense Ministry has concluded, after studying the published images from the site.

Russia: Missile Which Hit Poland Was Ukrainian

Russia’s Defense Ministry said, in a statement on Wednesday, that Russian troops delivered no strikes against targets close to the Ukrainian-Polish border.

The ministry stressed that the country’s military experts analyzed photos of the projectile’s parts that were published by media and “identified them as elements of a missile from the S-300 air defense system used by the Air Force of Ukraine.”

The ministry added that, on that day, Russian aircraft and ships conducted “massive” strikes on Ukrainian command centers and energy infrastructure.

“The high-precision strikes were carried out only against targets on Ukrainian territory and no closer than 35 kilometers (21.7 miles) from the Ukrainian-Polish border,” it said.

Erdogan Says Russia Uninvolved in Missile Attack

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Russia is uninvolved in the incident of a missile falling on Polish soil.

“I have to respect the position of Russia, which has said that it is not its missile. This is important for us,” Erdogan said, replying to a question from TASS, following the results of his participation in the G20 summit on the Indonesian island of Bali.

The Turkish leader also called for a detailed probe into the incident, pointing to what he felt were important statements by Biden.

“[German Chancellor Olaf] Scholz has said they are in touch with each other as six NATO countries are. There has also been Biden’s statement. I believe that insisting that the missiles were Russian-made will exacerbate this issue. We are trying to bring Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table as soon as possible. In this regard, we believe that such a method as provocations is not the right one. The path to peace lies through dialogue,” Erdogan said.

In Polish village where missile struck, terrified locals face up to tragedy according to Reuters News report

PRZEWODOW, Poland, Nov 16 (Reuters) – Hours after a stray missile brought death from the war on their doorstep, the villagers of Przewodow, south-eastern Poland, struggled on Wednesday to adjust to the reality of a new and terrifying threat.

Many locals kept their children indoors while others assessed damage caused to local buildings by the explosion, which killed two people at a grain dryer some six km (four miles) from the border with Ukraine.

“I’m terrified, people whom we knew very well have died,” Joanna Magus, a teacher of Polish at the local primary school, who lies just 100 metres (330 feet) from the site of the explosion, told reporters.

⚡️ Russian Defence Ministry (from the report of November 16, 2022):

❗️ The footage of the wreckage detected in Przewodów, published in the evening of 15 November in Poland, has been identified without a shadow of a doubt by professionals of Russian defence industrial complex as elements of S-300 air defence guided missile of Ukrainian Air Force.

The statements of various Ukrainian sources and foreign officials on the fall of alleged ‘Russian rockets’ in Przewodów are a deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation.

We also want to stress that no missile strikes were launched at any facilities in Kiev within high-precision firepower’s massive attack on the facilities located in Ukraine.

All the destructions in the residential quarters of the Ukrainian capital, demonstrated by the Kiev regime, are the direct consequence of the fall and self-destruction of the air defence missiles launched by Ukrainian forces from the foreign-manufactured air defence systems deployed within the city limits.

ℹ️ We want to emphasise that the high-precision attacks were launched only at the targets located in Ukraine and no closer than 35 kilometres from the Ukrainian–Polish border.

#AceNewsDesk – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has hailed the Russian withdrawal from Kherson as the “beginning of the end of the war”, as he lauded soldiers and took selfies with them in the recently liberated southern city.

” We are step-by step-coming to all the temporarily occupied territories,” he said……………………….” We are ready for peace – but our peace … For all our country, all our territory,” he said.

Video footage showed Mr Zelenskyy waving to residents who waved at him from an apartment window and yelled “Glory to Ukraine!”……………..The reply “Glory to the heroes!” came back from Mr Zelenskyy’s group, made up of soldiers and others.

Mr Zelenskyy has previously appeared unexpectedly in other front-line zones at crucial junctures of the war, to support troops and congratulate them for battlefield exploits.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday refused to comment on Mr Zelenskyy’s visit, saying only that “you know that it is the territory of the Russian Federation”.

Reuters reported:

The liberation of Kherson after a grinding offensive that forced Russian to withdraw its forces from the city was one of Ukraine’s biggest successes so far of the nearly nine-month invasion, and a stinging blow for the Kremlin.Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is taking back temporarily occupied territories “step by step”.(Reuters)

The end of Russia’s eight-month occupation of Kherson city has sparked days of celebration, but also exposed a humanitarian emergency, with residents living without power and water, and short of food and medicines.

Humanitarian crisis

Russia still controls about 70 per cent of the wider Kherson region.

Mr Zelenskyy said Russian soldiers left behind when their military commanders abandoned the city last week are being detained.

He also spoke, again without details, of the “neutralisation of saboteurs.”

Ukrainian police have called on residents to help identify people who collaborated with Russian forces.

Mr Zelenskyy urged people in the liberated zone to also be alert for booby traps, saying: “Please, do not forget that the situation in the Kherson region is still very dangerous.”

He promised that essential services would be restored.Ukrainian authorities warn Kherson faces a long road to recovery after being liberated, with Russian troops destroying critical infrastructure as they retreated.

“We are doing everything to restore normal technical capabilities for electricity and water supply as soon as possible,” he said.

“We will bring back transport and post. Let’s bring back an ambulance and normal medicine.

“Of course, the restoration of the work of authorities, the police, and some private companies are already beginning.”

Residents said departing Russian troops plundered the city, carting away loot as they withdrew.

One Ukrainian official described the situation in Kherson as “a humanitarian catastrophe”.

Reconnecting the electricity supply is the priority, with gas supplies already assured, Kherson regional Governor Yaroslav Yanushevych said.

The Russian retreat marked a triumphant milestone in Ukraine’s pushback against Moscow’s invasion, and the latest in a series of battlefield embarrassments for the Kremlin.

It came some six weeks after President Vladimir Putin annexed the Kherson region and three other provinces in southern and eastern Ukraine — in breach of international law — and declared them Russian territory.

A Washington-based think tank, the Institute for the Study of War, said that Ukraine has won “an important victory” in recapturing the city of Kherson and other areas west of the Dnipro River, but “it has by no means liberated the minimum territory essential to its future security and economic survival.”

Echoing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s comments over the weekend, Mr Stoltenberg said it was up to Ukraine to decide when and how it wanted to negotiate with Russia to end the war.

“They are paying now the highest price in terms of lost lives and damage to the country. So it is for Ukraine to decide what kind of terms are acceptable for them,” he said.

A foreign ministry spokesperson reiterated Ukraine’s terms on Facebook on Monday.

“Ukraine’s peace formula remains unchanged: an immediate end to the war, the withdrawal of all Russian troops, the restoration of Ukrainian territorial integrity, compensation for the damage caused, and the provision of effective guarantees of non-repetition of aggression,” he wrote.

“What happens around the table is fundamentally linked to the situation on the battlefield,” Mr Stoltenberg said.

“So what we should do is to support Ukraine and to strengthen their hand so that at some stage there can be negotiations where Ukraine prevails as an independent sovereign nation in Europe,” he added.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had completely captured the village of Pavlivka in the eastern Donetsk region.

Multiple Ukrainian officials have spoken of heavy battles raging in the area in recent weeks but did not confirm their loss of Pavlivka.

FEATURED UKRAINE V RUSSIA: Iran Says That Drones Used By Russia Provided Before War Iran State Media Report:

#AceNewsDesk – Iran’s foreign minister acknowledges that drones were sent to Russia, but says it happened before the war and says U.K were involved in strike according to NDTV report

Russia has used Iranian-made drones in a series of deadly strikes on Ukrainian cities, according to Ukrainian and Western officials.

Iran’s foreign minister for the first time acknowledged on Saturday that his country had sent drones to Russia, according to the Iranian state news media, but said that the deliveries had all taken place before Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in February.

Russia has used Iranian-made drones in a series of deadly strikes that have wreaked havoc on Ukrainian cities, according to Ukrainian and Western officials.

Iran has denied sending drones to Russia for use in Ukraine, and the Kremlin has denied using Iranian drones to attack civilians. But international calls for accountability have mounted as deadly assaults in recent weeks helped debilitate Ukraine’s electricity supplies as the cold sets in.

The United States, the European Union and Britain have imposed new sanctions on Iran over the attack drones.

Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir Amirabdollahian, acknowledged in remarks carried by Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency that his country had sent drones to Russia. He did not specify the make or model of drones delivered to Moscow.

Mr. Amirabdollahian said the accusations from Western nations that Iran’s drones had been supplied for use in Russia’s war in Ukraine were false, since the deliveries took place months before the invasion, according to IRNA.

Iran also has sent trainers to Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine to help Russian fighters overcome problems with the drones, according to current and former U.S. officials. The moves underscore the close ties between Iran and Russia, particularly as the Kremlin has sought to offset its international isolation since starting the war.

Iran has officially said that it would not provide either side of the conflict with military equipment but had confirmed that a drone deal with Russia was part of a military agreement that predated the invasion of Ukraine.

NDTV Reported: Repulsed Ukraine Drone Attack On Naval Fleet In Crimea: Russian Army according to Agence France-Presse

Repulsed Ukraine Drone Attack On Naval Fleet In Crimea: Russian Army

Russia-Ukraine War: Moscow’s military said ships targeted at their Crimean base were involved in a UN-brokered deal to allow the export of Ukrainian grain.

The Russian army accused Ukraine Saturday of a “massive” drone attack on its Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, while Britain bluntly rejected Moscow’s claims its specialists were involved.

Sevastopol in Moscow-annexed Crimea, which has been targeted several times in recent months, serves as the headquarters for the fleet and a logistical hub for operations in Ukraine.

The Russian army claimed to have “destroyed” nine aerial drones and seven maritime ones, in an attack in the port early Saturday.

Moscow’s forces alleged British “specialists”, whom they said were based in the southern Ukrainian city of Ochakiv, had helped prepare and train Kyiv to carry out the strike.

In a further singling out of the UK — which Moscow sees as one of the most unfriendly Western countries — Moscow said the same British unit was involved in explosions oN the Nord Stream gas pipelines last month.

Britain strongly rebutted both claims, saying “the Russian Ministry of Defence is resorting to peddling false claims of an epic scale.”

The British defence ministry said that this “invented story says more about arguments going on inside the Russian Government than it does about the West”.

Moscow’s military said ships targeted at their Crimean base were involved in a UN-brokered deal to allow the export of Ukrainian grain.

Russia had recently criticised the deal, saying its own grain exports have suffered due to Western sanctions.

‘Massive’ attack

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-installed governor of Sevastopol, said Saturday’s drone attack was the “most massive” the peninsula had seen.

The city’s services were on “alert”, but he claimed no “civilian infrastructure” had been damaged.

He called on residents of the city not to post videos of the incident on social media.

“It should be clear to everyone that such information is much needed for Ukrainian Nazis in order to understand how the defence of our city is built,” he said.

City authorities said that the harbour was “temporarily” closed to boats and ferries and urged people “not to panic”.

Attacks on Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014, have increased in recent weeks, as Kyiv presses a counter-offensive in the south to retake territory held by Moscow for months.

Moscow-installed authorities in Kherson, just north of Crimea, have vowed to turn the city into a fortress, preparing for an inevitable assault.

On Thursday, Razvozhayev said a thermal power station had been attacked in Balaklava, in the Sevastopol area.

He claimed there was only minor damage and no casualties.

In early October, Moscow’s bridge linking Crimea to the Russian mainland — personally inaugurated by President Vladimir Putin in 2018 — was damaged by a blast that Putin blamed on Ukraine.

The Russian fleet stationed in the port had also been attacked by a drone in August.

Russia’s allegations Saturday came as the Ukrainian army reported fighting in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions in the east, including near Bakhmut — the only area where Moscow’s forces have advanced in recent weeks.

Pro-Russian separatists fighting alongside Moscow also announced a new prisoner exchange with Kyiv, saying 50 will return home from each side.

On the southern front, AFP journalists witnessed artillery battles in the village of Kobzartsi, the last settlement on the Ukrainian side before the line of contact with the Russians.

“It can go wrong here. But we know that they suffer much more on their side than on ours,” said Oleksiy, a Ukrainian soldier in his 20s.

Both sides were gearing up for the battle for the city of Kherson, the regional capital that fell to Moscow’s forces in the first days of their offensive.
