HOUSE POET 🌿🍂🍃⚘️🍁☘️🌱🍀✍️

True love doesn’t die.

Lust, a lesser emotion, will eventually drop away.

Sometimes mutating into anger, hatred or regret.

But the core of love, the pure soul-filled centre of love, the love which binds us through lifetimes and centuries.

Yes, that love.

That love remains.

In the first chapter, we delve into the various complex factors contributing to the decline of print media. This includes the profound impact of the internet and digital platforms, which have fundamentally altered how people consume news. The emergence of real-time updates, multimedia content, and 24/7 accessibility has provided digital media with unparalleled convenience and interactivity that print media can not match. Furthermore, the traditional financial model of print media, which heavily relied on advertising revenue, has been significantly affected by a shift toward online platforms, further undermining the sustainability of print publications.

Moving on to the second chapter, we explore the considerable transformation that journalism has undergone as print media declines. Digital journalism has emerged as a potent medium characterised by its exceptional speed, extensive reach, and tremendous innovation potential. This transformation encompasses not only the migration of content to online platforms but also a fundamental reevaluation of how stories are presented. The increasing prevalence of multimedia storytelling, interactive features, and data journalism contributes to more immersive and engaging content.

Chapter 3 scrutinises the escalating prominence of mobile devices and social media platforms as the primary news sources for many individuals. The widespread use of smartphones has facilitated on-the-go news consumption, while social media platforms have become crucial spaces for instantaneous news sharing and discussion. This shift has necessitated changes in journalistic practices, prompting a heightened focus on optimising content for mobile viewing and fostering engagement through social media.

In Chapter 4, we confront the myriad challenges that digital journalism confronts. Notably, the sheer volume of online information has led to information overload and the proliferation of misinformation. Furthermore, monetising digital content is a substantial challenge, as many publishers grapple with devising sustainable revenue models, mainly as consumers exhibit reluctance to pay for online news.

The fifth chapter delves into the innovative revenue models and strategies that media organisations are experimenting with in response to these challenges. This includes the growing traction of subscription-based models, paywalls, and membership programs and an increased emphasis on sponsored content and native advertising. Furthermore, some outlets explore unconventional approaches such as micro-payments and crowdfunding.

Chapter 6 underscores the critical importance of trust and credibility in the digital age. In light of the proliferation of fake news and misinformation, journalists are compelled to redouble their efforts in establishing and upholding credibility. Rigorous fact-checking, transparent sourcing, and adherence to ethical reporting standards are pivotal in nurturing and preserving audience trust.

Finally, in Chapter 7, we ponder the future direction of digital journalism, which is poised to undergo continued evolution. Emerging technologies such as AI, AR, and VR promise to enable immersive storytelling experiences. There is also a burgeoning emphasis on personalised news content tailored to individual interests and preferences. Additionally, collaborative journalism may gain prominence, showcasing partnerships between news organisations, technology companies, and the public to produce and disseminate news.

Ultimately, the decline of print media signals is not an end but a transition to a new era. With the diplomatic embrace of innovation, a steadfast commitment to credibility, and the exploration of sustainable revenue models, journalism stands poised to thrive in the digital age. The fundamental tenets of journalism—including accuracy, fairness, and integrity—retain their enduring significance, irrespective of the medium through which they are conveyed.

I don't know where I'm goin' But I sure know where I've been Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time Tho' I keep searching for an answer I never seem to find what I'm looking forOh Lord, I pray you give me strength to carry on 'Cause I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams
This passage reminds me of a story that brought me so much joy recently: I bought a couple of houseplants a while ago, and they were thriving. These plants brightened my home and mood every time I glanced at them. Sitting on the windowsill, they kept growing more significant and reaching towards the sun each day. If I cared for them properly, they would keep growing in this way, seemingly forever, and even the pieces that fell off the plants started growing new plants. I planned to move them outside when the weather turned warmer so that they could keep growing and spawning new plants. I went away from home for a few days and watered the plants before leaving. I overwatered them because when I returned, the plants were dying. I was upset at myself, thinking about what I could have done differently and questioning why I did what I did in the first place. These plants could have gone outside and outlasted me. They could have grown for centuries if only I had let them. How can I possibly predict what will happen? What happens to this plant, to me, to everything is not for me to decide. Only one thing is permanent: the word of God. I felt sad about these plants, far more than I should have. I saw this passage a few days later and thought instead about how lucky those plants were and how fortunate I am to have heard the word of the Lord. Plants, people, and all things come and go. The Lord lasts forever.

Julian Assange’s five-year battle against extradition to the US continues as he WINS last-ditch legal battle to lodge an appeal

‘Today is a victory, but part of the victory only.’ ‘Today marks a turning point. We went into court and we sat and heard the United States fumbling through their arguments, trying to paint lipstick on a pig. ‘We are relieved as a family that the courts took the right decision today but how long […]

I’m a man, therefore I’m a monster. At least according to a lot of you lately. Over the last several months, I have observed a big rise in misandry. That’s sexism against men, anti-maleness, or “man hate”. It has culminated recently with a question to women, “Would you rather be lost in the woods with […]
