Finding Happiness: A Journey Through Sadness

And she looks happier. You can see it in her eyes, they aren’t as darkly hollowed and filled with sadness as much as they used to be. Her hair is now short with blonde highlights, she has a few more piercings, and she is happily wearing clothes she loves. She is also starting to find ways to enjoy her own company. She looks happier, you see; she’s relieved and free. The world’s weight is no longer as heavy as it once was, crashing her shoulders to the ground. She no longer feels a heavy sense of shame as she once did when walking through the green gates. I can’t quite explain it to you, but she is happier despite the never-ending growth journey she has yet to go on.

She still wears her heart on her sleeve and looks at life with naive eyes. She still seems to trust too easily and points out all her flaws. She is really hard on herself at times, but she gives her time as she figures herself out and starts to diminish mental habits that no longer serve a good purpose in her life. Life hasn’t been easy for her, and her faith is rocky.

And she looks happier. You can see it in her eyes. But beneath such happiness lies a hollow void of sadness that has not been filled since that day. A hollow sense of sadness that reminds her of an old friend, old clothes she once wore, old diary extracts and old pictures. A hollow sense of sadness reminds her of why he felt at home. You can see it in her eyes. The hollow void of sadness urged her to never forget all the good that once stayed. She realised she could only sit with the void until the emptiness within it one day didn’t lay as heavy upon her chest. She still mourns and cries at the screams of her past lives, telling her all she could have done and should have done. She then tells herself to snap back to reality and that the only thing she can do is move forward because who said that moving forward in life isn’t beautiful? It is sad, but she is becoming happier and growing into the most beautifully radiant sunflower…And she is happier. You can see it in her eyes. They are no longer as darkly hollowed and filled with as much sadness, but some days, the hollow void of sadness washes upon her, and a tsunami of tears turns her face dry…And she knows by the end of this, she will be ok.
