The Blessed Virgin

“TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN.” a poem December 15, 2019 (SUNday, fun DAY)

Forgive me, Blessed Virgin Mother, for this slightly irreverent poem;

I mean no terrible disrespect; I am, by The Grace of God, merely trapped alone at HOME.

Forgive me, Blessed Virgin Mother, but I don’t wanna be a PRAYER WARRIOR;

Remember me? I’m just a sinner,

Who doesn’t really care whether he’s a:

LOSER a TIE er or a WINNER;

I just wanna live a life that is not based too much on superstition,

For ( I notice ) devils and ghosts are on exhibition,

Over at the church for Christmas this year,

Along with Santa and the elves; each reindeer has a beer,

And The Saints are holding crucifixes, saying: “Climb on Board,”

But, Blessed Virgin Mother, I’m looking to ward,

A NEW DAY,

A NEW WAY,

Where memories are faded,

And religious notions do NOT get frequently paraded,

Down The Streets of Town, asking for donations.

“GIVE TO THE POOR.” The poor are losing patience,

Not really getting very much Christmas cheer.

The “poor” seem pretty depressed, when (you know) EVERY YEAR,

All they get for Christmas gifts is: a square meal a handshake & a bottle o’ pills.

Of course, WE DO THE BEST WE CAN TO CLEAN UP THE X-MAS ILLS,

And have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS; I hope that everyone’s happy.

We got all the resources we really need, so,

Why are so many (ghosts) feeling so crappy?

The answer might be: WE’RE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR TOMORROW.

Today: HEAVEN ARRIVED.

What I heard was: “Do you have some depression/pain medication (that) I can borrow?”

    My mind is clear! or, perhaps, just empty. These are the Days of Our Lives 😁
