I think you’re beautiful.

I think you’re beautiful in the way you hold yourself against all odds – how your eyes gleam with self-love and affirmation, despite the questioning glares, despite the negativity, despite the hurdles, the emotional turmoil, despite the messiness of life.

I think you’re beautiful when you don’t feel it, when you look at yourself in the mirror and notice the tiny imperfections that adorn you like jewels, and your lips curve into a thin smile that doesn’t reach your eyes you don’t feel beautiful, or perfect, or enough, but for me that’s when beauty engulfs you.

I think you’re beautiful because of your mind, the clutter of your thoughts challenges and pushes boundaries, and your mind makes you intellectually graceful.

I think you’re beautiful because of your heart, it throbs with kindness and love and it gives and gives until there is nothing left for itself.

The most beautiful thing about you are your eyes – they shine with strength and fragility, they shed more tears of sadness than they do of happiness, but they never fall short of sprinkling affection everywhere they go.

I think you’re beautiful when you’re trying not to be.

Because that’s when your beauty is effortless, that’s when I can see it the most.

When you try not to be anything other than yourself, that’s when you’re the most beautiful to me.
