Our Father 😌

These words spake Jesus, and lifted his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour comes; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

Jesus spoke these words in the garden of Gethsemane. The time has come when He has to prepare Himself for what is to come. He is the Son of God, but He is also the Son of Man. He understands the suffering which will be on Him in a matter of hours. His flesh struggles against it, but His will is more robust. Here He talks to His father in a heartfelt prayer. He prays for the strength to glorify His father, the power to get through what is to come.

Jesus, I cannot imagine the loneliness You felt as You prepared Yourself for death. I know that, as God’s son, You were protected from eternal death, but You were not protected from pain. My heart breaks to see that You suffered like that for me, and I am beyond grateful for Your sacrifice of love. Amen. 💥
