Psalm 78 says that when the Israelites were in the wilderness, “They tested God’s patience and provoked the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power and how he rescued them from their enemies”. Several other translations say “they limited the Holy One of Israel”. They didn’t remember that He was limitless. They didn’t remember that He redeemed them from Pharaoh with miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt or that He split the Red Sea for them and caused them to walk across on dry ground. They didn’t remember! The psalmist goes on to say that because they limited God by not remembering His works, they turned back and were unfaithful to Him. The word “limited” does not apply to God, but it applies to what they put on themselves. They took their limitations and tried to put them on a limitless God, and that caused them to turn back.

That tells me that although you and I have the power to put limits on God, we also have the power to break our own limited mindsets. If we’re going to accomplish the things that God wants for us, we can’t focus on our obstacles and setbacks. We have to be single-minded about His Word and power. We have to seek Him daily for His wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and strength. We have to remember who He is and what He’s done. He is the God who has rescued us in the past. He’s the God who parts our Red Seas. He’s the God who brings water out of our rocks. He’s the God of the impossible. His hands are not tied and never will be connected. Don’t turn back. Take His hands and draw your strength from your limitless God. Everything you need in this life is found in Him!,
