HOUSE POET – SUFFERING

The Intrigue of Suffering

There’s a captivating dialogue just waiting to be ignited around the topic of suffering. Imagine the profound insights that could surface as we bravely confront this complex aspect of the human experience. Engaging with suffering not only deepens our understanding of ourselves but also unveils powerful lessons that can transform our lives. Let’s embark on this exploration together and unlock the potential for healing and growth that lies within our struggles.

When I beg God to take away what’s hurting

I brace myself and grit my teeth

Could you wait for the time to close her taunts?

She slows down

Turns around and taunts me

Beats me while

I find myself on my knees, humbled and ready to embrace the moment.

There are delays when their pity

Tastes like sand between my teeth

When I can’t look them in the eye

Because of what they’ve got

I often find myself pondering whether anyone truly sees me.

There’s a profound weight in watching you endure your suffering; it pulls at my heartstrings in ways I can’t quite articulate.

Back bowed from a burden so heavy

Arms aching from waiting for that blessing

Face turned up to the sky, begging for mercy

The rain comes to play tricks on your mind

Time can feel like a beautiful jewel, glimmering and slipping through our fingers. Each moment is precious, reminding us just how fleeting life can be.

When I finally paused my relentless pursuit of success, I stumbled upon a life-changing realisation. The constant quest for material wealth distracts us from what truly enriches our lives. By letting go of those worldly ambitions, I learned to embrace a deeper appreciation for the beauty around us.

These insights inspire me to share that true fulfilment doesn’t come from possessions or status, but from the cherished moments we create and the meaningful connections we foster. Let’s celebrate the fleeting nature of time and seek deeper values beyond surface-level achievements; it’s in this journey that we discover the true essence of a fulfilling life. Embrace each moment and the joy it brings!

I fell from shattered pieces to ash and dust
found my way beside you at the altar

Never again will our footsteps falter

My pain is yours, your fears are my fears

We can rest easier knowing our time is near

I still marvel at how the strongest armour

It is made of vulnerability

When you say it hurts to breathe

You don’t have to hide your tears from me

I know exactly what you mean

There is something to be said about

Christ’s suffering

There is something to be said about suffering

When I beg God to take away what’s hurting

1 brace myself and grit my teeth
Could you wait for the time to close her thing?

She slows down

Turns around and taunts me

Beats me while

Im on my knees
There are delays

When their pity

Tastes like sand between my teeth

When I can’t look them in the eye

Because of what they’ve got

1 wonder if I’m truly seen

There is something to be said when I watch you suffering

Back bowed from a burden so heavy

Arms aching from waiting for that blessing

Face turned up to the sky, begging for mercy

The rain comes to play tricks on your mind

Slipping through your fingers like facets of time

When I stopped trying to build my kingdom on Earth

I fell from shattered pieces to ash and dust
found my way beside you at the altar

Never again will our footsteps falter

My pain is yours, your fears are my fears

We can rest easier knowing our time is near

I still marvel at how the strongest armour
