For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In this scripture, Paul makes it clear, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that sin brings death. He uses the word "wages" indicating that there is a price to be paid for living a sinful life: Death. He contrasts that with the alternative: eternal life. In this small scripture, Paul lays out the basic decision all people must face. Either we sin and die or we don't sing and have eternal life. It's a simple choice. It's amazing that so many people still hesitate.

Father, I choose eternal life with You over the death that sin brings. Help me to live my life in such a way that I never have to pay the wages demanded by sin. Thank You for offering me eternal life with You instead. Amen.🙏
