In far-West-Texas, there dwells a gal,
Named Judith Brueske! She-is my-pal!
She-writes beautiful-poetry (pause) and paints stunning things!
I’ve written-of-her pooch “Foxie!” Now, this-poem She brings:
TIME’S NOT REALLY REAL,
BUT THAT HARDLY-ACCOUNTS
FOR THE-TIME THAT WE-FEEL.
TIME THAT ZIPS-PAST-US,
TIMES THAT GO SLOW-ER,
THAT ONE CAN REVISIT,
SAVOR OVER & OV-ER.
OUR BRAIN SORTS-IT ALL-OUT,
THE TIME AND ITS SPEED,
AND CURATES OUR MEMORIES
WITH JUST-THOSE THAT-WE-NEED.
Written by Judith on 9/04/2019 to celebrate a birthday for our friend Marilyne Dieckert, who turned 90 years young in August this year & lives in College Station, Texas!
