“GOD’S CANCER!?” a poem 31 August 2019 (Saturday)
Without warning! on some lovely day,
IT STARTED “GOING,” in-an unusual way!
A growth! which just looked at me – and would not heal!
“Now, what is this?” I said; “What kind of deal,
Is THIS? growing all day long,
Getting big – and puffy – and red – and strong!?”
Diagnosis? : CANCER! “Have THE THING removed!”
“No,” said I, a-dancer; “I-shall NOT e’er be moved,
From-accepting, y’-know, FATE! -or- THE-BLOODY WILL-o’-GOD,”
So, I watched Mr. Happy! growing on my bod,
And – HE GREW AND GREW, FOR YEARS AND YEARS;
We got-married! bought-a-car! and, together-shed many-tears!
And-then ONE DAY (maybe ’cause He got so big),
He fell right off, DEAD – so, with-love in-me, I started to dig,
A perfect grave, for my perfect “mate!”
I had grown accustomed to him! and-every weekend date,
That we shared, through thick and thin!
No, he didn’t grow – upon my chin,
Or in an organ – or on my toe!
You-guessed-it! Where he-grew, I-just-knew you’d know:
HE GREW THERE! right-a-cross my mam-mar-ies,
And the message He left: “Thanks-For-The-Mem-or-ies!”

And I NOTICED JUST THE OTHER DAY,
His sister’s now growing there, name-o’: “Carcino-Jenny-Mae, “
And I just know we’re gonna be pals, hopefully, the-best of friends,
And, whether we get married or not – WELL, that just depends!
‘Cause I like my bedmates PUFFY! a-little-rank – and dripping juice!
And, of course, I like ’em – WILD! and LOOSE!
Ready for action, at the drop of-a hat;
And I’ll takes ’em as I finds t-’em, but I kinda likes ’em FAT,
So we can scrunch – and cuddle – and bounce-around in bed!
And She can be brown, even black – and/or blue – but (you-guessed-it) I PREFER RED!

God grows big; God is GOOD; God is-in cancer – and morning wood!
God loves to eat us – for lunch or dinner; God likes to-munch, ‘specially on-a sinner,
‘Cause God likes us juicy, spicy and hot;
I tell-ya: “GOD-IS-WARM! – and-has-been-known-to-smoke-some-pot!”*
- – but only in states where it’s legal! God refuses to “break the law,” unless She has to!
