“TO THE PARTY OF THE FIRST AND SECOND PART, LET’S NEVER PART!!” a poem 25 April 2019 (Thor’s Day)

Ernest Hemingway* once said: “THE WORLD-is a fine place [and] worth fighting for!”*
I agree WITH THE SECOND PART, but nothing more! (long pause)
And WHAT IS “THE WORLD? Perhaps, every place offering THIS illusion:
“THAT EXISTENCE IS-NOT ONE!” Yet, existence is, arguably, a delusion,
And, as such, has no “one-ness” at all!
So what? Grab-your-cell-phone and give-me a call,
And we’ll talk, if-I-“click,” and-we’ll-talk-if-I don’t!
Two-tongues-can-interact! French-kissing, I won’t,
Mind-at-all! if-with-you it-is-done,
For I love your-breath’s aroma, so-kissing-you’s-fun,
But-another-person? No, thanks! So, Honey, let’s kiss away,
For-I’ve-found YOUR mouth! and-I-think-of-it-all-day!

Love is absurd! Love-is kind-of-“gross,”
But, Baby, towards-you is-where-my-mind-and-Heart-goes!

You can’t argue [much] with attraction – is THIS WORLD of ours;
I’ll-even-yearn for-your-kisses, as I’m waiting-“behind-bars!”

You’re-my “Party-of-The-First-Part,” and I’ll fight for “your hand,”
But THE WORLD-can-be-terrible, not-aw-fully-“grand,”
For-IT-loves to undo – what-might-make-us-happy!
But-STILL! Let’s sign-THE-contract, hoping-the-future’s not-crappy!

You purchase your ticket; you take[s] your chance;
You kiss the one – with-whom-you-want-to-dance!
OR YOU DON’T – and-then you-CAN-regret,
NOT-being-with-“THE-LOVER!” So, please, don’t-let,
The-Party-of-The-First-Part, your-potential-“better-half,”
Get away at all – (S)he’s-a “Golden, Fatted Calf,”
Just waiting to be eaten – by-you, Oh, Second Part!
She’s-what’s-worth-fighting-for! [These-are-“Things-of-The-Heart!”]

** – I attribute this entire quotation to Morgan Freeman, as Officer Somerset in “Se7en,” an interesting film, without a happy ending!!
