I am mean, I am macho
A mind that works
In the deep and devious
Crevices, of a mind
Where Beelzebub resides
Sharpening the horns
And licking his cloven tail
A comfort zone for him.
Don’t come near me
I am toxic, septic
My smile a snare;
I will love you first
Then hurt you
Mutilate your heart
Circumscribe your soul
Pollute your conscience
Before even aware of it.
You are deader than mackerel
A zombie no less.
One day I happened to meet
My antithesis, the protagonist
With soft loving eyes
Beatific visage
Pythagoras vertical
Transparent like plate glass
With the love of Jesus
Integrity of Gandhi
Courage of Lincoln
My smile all too plain to her
At a single glance.
My meanness dire
She met with love.
She saw through me
Subjected me to X, UV, IR rays
I lay prone like a fish
Being cut open my innards
While she adjusted
Critical, analytical prods
The tools of her trade so to speak
I remained like a microbe
Under an electron microscope.
Then she turned on
A process of atomic radiation
Irradiating me with softness
Love, affection, understanding
Empathy, sympathy and what not.
And presto! My cloven tail
Began to thin down
Shriveled and vanished;
Canines grew shorter
My sharp horn became blunt;
Began a process of wear
Then it too disappeared.
I was washed in the blood
White like a lamb.
Malice turned kindness
Macho became gentle
The crevices clean of evil
And I was born again.
My heart cleansed
My soul purified
My mind detoxified
In fact a NEW MAN
Pure and pristine
With no flies on me.
