A man wanted on a Victorian warrant for conspiracy to murder since 2010 has been arrested in Ravenshoe in Far North Queensland this morning.

Acting on information received, Tablelands Detectives, uniformed police and the Cairns Dog Squad attended an Ascham Street residence at approximately 8:45am where 64-year-old Graham Gene Potter was located and taken into custody.

It is alleged Mr Potter failed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court in February 2010 on charges of conspiracy to murder.

Tablelands Detectives have had previous information regarding sightings of Mr Potter in the Tablelands area, where it is alleged he evaded police in Tully in 2010.

Multiple law enforcement bodies throughout Australia have been attempting to locate him for the last 12 years.

Detectives from Victoria will travel to the Far North, to seek Mr Potterโ€™s extradition.

The 64-year-old will appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow, Tuesday February 22.

ABC News Report: Potter has been wanted by police since February 2010, when he failed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court to front conspiracy to murder charges.

He was accused of being contracted to kill a man at the wedding of the son of Melbourne underworld figure Mick Gatto.

Acting Assistant Commissioner for Victoria Police Mick Frewen said Victoria Police will make an application to extradite Potter to Victoria, where he will be presented before the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court.

“It certainly puts to an end a long and protracted hunt for a very high-end fugitive that is wanted for very, very serious criminal charges,” he said.

He said Victoria Police is confident in the strength of the evidence they have against Potter.A $100,000 reward was announced in 2011 for information that could lead to his capture.

Potter was last seen by police in Tully in 2010 but escaped after being pulled over in a routine intercept. He was known for changing his appearance to avoid capture.

Potter previously served 15 years in jail for killing and dismembering 19-year-old Kim Barry in Corrimal in 1981.

Update 3: Death of police officer, Burpengary

myPolice on Jun 27, 2021 @ 3:35pm

Homicide detectives are seeking public assistance to help locate 33-year-old Skye Anne Wallis (pictured) who is suspected of driving the car which struck and killed Senior Constable David Masters on Saturday morning.

Although her exact whereabouts are unknown, she has connections with the North Brisbane and Moreton areas.

She is described as 170cm tall, Caucasian, with dyed silver hair and brown eyes.

Detectives are appealing to Skye, or anyone with information on her whereabouts, to contact police.

Detective Superintendent Craig Morrow said police were still looking for the driver, who they believe was Skye Anne Wallis, 33.

She is described as 170-centimetres tall, Caucasian, with dyed silver hair and brown eyes.

“We’ve constantly, today and last night, attended a number of addresses of family, friends and associates of those people in an effort to locate that person,” he said.

Queensland police will allege the driver deliberately drove at the officer, after reviewing footage of the incident captured on traffic cameras.

Detective Superintendent Morrow said investigations were still in the early stages but police believe the two women were known to each other.

“Our search field has been everywhere from north Brisbane through to Moreton,” he said.

“We know she has associates west towards Ipswich and south towards the Gold Coast, so it’s a big area.”

He said at this stage detectives believed there were only two people in the car.
