It Lord, help us to consider our ways and to ponder the path of our feet. Give us a clear vision of what we should do and where we should go and then keep us focused on doing our will, not distracted by the world’s allurements. The world’s “Vanity Fair” offers the pleasures of sin for a season but lies in the heart of the “City of Destruction. ” Let us seek the happiness of God instead and hunger and thirst after His righteousness.

Amen.

Lord, you are the giver of hope. ✨

We may sorrow for lost loved ones who knew you because we miss them, but we do not suffer as the world that has no real hope. 💥

We know that we shall see our brothers and sisters in Christ again, and we rejoice for them that they are now in a happier state.💥

Hear me when I call,

God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer. 🙏

Whenever we come to God with a request, we should remember what David here remembers, that it is only a matter of mercy that God would hear his prayer. ✨

🙏 He was a great man of God, a “man after God’s own heart, ” but even he did not presume to make demands on God but instead cried out for mercy.

I come before you today, O my God, not with any confidence in my righteousness. But you are the “God of my righteousness, ” even as you were to David of old. I come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and present my petition before you. I come not as collecting something due to me from you but as one who seeks your mercy.

Root out all human pride in us, Lord. Cast out of our hearts any lingering trust in our own ability to keep your Law and work out our acceptability in your sight. Your Law is too tall for us to surmount and its shadow too long for us to escape. There is no hiding place from the negative merit of our own sin but in your Son. Amen.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by the faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
