“SOME DAZE!” a poem 27 July 2019 [Saturday]
On some days, I kinda-sorta know my own name!!! On other days, I’m not too sure!
On some days, I’m PRETTY SURE I got me some friends; other-daze? is-just-a-blur!
Some DAZE come – and SOME days GO,
And where I’ll end up? I NEVER KNOW,
But most days, I HOPE! it’ll-be-IN-YOUR-ARMS,
While-you’re holding real tight! and-I’m-filled-up- with-your-charms,
And sprinkled with the glory – of your smile and your look!
YOU’RE A REAL S – x – y ANIMAL! and-you-know-how to-cook,
And: You can “CLEAN! Ya-can-clean my-‘clock’ all right,
Clear The Spider Webs!” You’re outta sight!
On some days, I can pause! and be so grateful for my wife,
Who makes for a FULL! and – COM-PLETE LIFE!
On some days you’re-upset-with-me, I’m-sure for-a-[very]-good reason!
On some days-you-say: “You’re ALWAYS right!” (or, at least, for a-short-season!)
But – MOST DAYS I’m-sure (pause) I LOVE YOU,
[And] I-remember-my-name, [I think], and-I’m ready-to-do,
ANYTHING AT-ALL – TO SHOW HOW MUCH I CARE;
On some days, I’ll [you let me]: stroke-and-wash-and-comb-Your-Hair!
