“HOW I LEARNED [THAT] LOVE AIN’T ALL THE SAME!” a poem August 6, 2019 (Tuesday)
I found-out late-in-life, I-guess [that] Strategies-about-LOVE areN’T [all] the same;
ONE-PHILOSOPHY: “This-is-the-greatest-thing-since-white-bread!”
THE-OTHER: “It’s-OK, but-I-won’t-TAKE-THE-BLAME!”
As-it-turned-out, I-married-me-an-angel, but-my-parents-didn’t-care,
For how-her-pretty-wings-fluttered, saying: “She’s-too-much-in-the-air,”
But I-loved-me-an-angel; so, I hung on VERY LONG,
Until, over-time, I-listened-to-EVERY SINGLE SONG,
Which-said, “You CAN be happy, (pause) if-you stick-to YOUR,
WAY OF THINKING (pause) and NEVER do defer,
To others’ points of view!” ’cause (one day) it occurred to me:
IF MY IN-LAWS HAD-A-PROBLEM-[WITH-MOI], I WOULD JUST AGREE!
My-love-it-would-compel-me to-go [to-them] “on-bended-knee,”
And-beg to-be-“taken-back!” BACKWARDS, they would see,
Me-to-go for-I-would for-their-daughter’s-hand,
Because-for-me-LOVE, true-love, NE-VER-“TAKES-A-STAND!”
LOVE-WILL BOW-AND-BEND AND PLEAD-A-LOT AND-CRY,
TO-GET TO-THE-BELOVED (Who-is before my-eye!)
I have no pride; I-just need YOU;
I’ll-kiss-anyone’s-arse, so-we-won’t-be-“blue,”
So-I can-be with-YOU, “The-Girl-o’-My-Dreams!”
TRUE LOVE never – pouts or screams;
It just goes: “I’m IN-LOVE-with-you;
Whatever it takes, that’s what I’ll do!”©️
