The dark side of the Empathetic is considered a mythical beast to be feared, shunned, and denied.
The dark side of the Empathetic lies beneath the label of “Empathetic”…..deep within the repressed and denied “self”.
It comes in the recognition of being human, as much as a higher being.
It arises in the acknowledgment of trauma, abuse, and other experiences which act as catalysts of change.
It comes from going through the authentic experience of one’s own emotions that have been long suppressed.
The dark side of the Empathetic is about meeting human within themselves and reintegrating it within themselves.
It means the Empathetic must face their pain, their victimization, and their shortcomings.
The dark side of the Empath isn’t just about their pain and reintegration, though.
Because the Empath is human, they are as likely to be judgmental, angry, jealous, proud, lazy, greedy, unforgiving, apathetic, prejudiced, abusive, needy, and so much more.
The important thing to remember is that, despite all the differences, we are all human.
We are all on the same journey, learning to survive, and striving to evolve.
We are all on the same path….and we are all light and dark.
