“GREAT(est) ACCOMPLISHMENT(s).” a poem a.k.a.: “In Search of YOUR HOME And A G'(ood) Boy.” for: December 8, 2019 (Sunday)
St. Peter and Athena(?) were waiting for me THERE.
“What do you have to report?” TheySaid, withA happy, little stare,
Sort of looking at me askance, as if they already knew,
MY ANSWER. but Would it be (truly) true?
I thought, as I encountered THEM that wild and blustery day,
As Pooh Bear, Tigger and Christopher Robin were coming up The Way.
“Well,” said I, hesitating as I often do;
“I do have ONE accomplishment OR maybe (maybe) two.”
“PRAY tell; let us know.” THEY gently said to me.
“Well, I am A G’BOY,” I said withAlittleG’BOYglee.
“A WHAT?” they asked. “A GOOD BOY; (pause) THAT isWHAT am I.”
“Is that very impressive?” those two asked, and they did fairly cry.
“OH, YES; it IS,” I said with a mischievous, g’boy smile;
“My True Love thinks I AM a g’boy; She thinks it all the while.”
[And Jesus, even Jesus was a GoodBoy, at least He was for some;
It’s a WHOLE LOT better (I think) than bein’ “a bloomin’ crumb.”]
“OK, G’boy,” they said; “be a good boy and run along.”
So, I went to play with my g’friends, and we all sang a little song;
We sang a song, we g’boys, (It was) The Beatles’ “She’s Leaving Home.”
“I bet She’s looking for a g’boy,
Who’s clever with a poem.”
