Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbor's house, lest he is weary of thee and so hate thee.
The Lord calls us to be hospitable to our neighbors and to welcome guests.
And sometimes, we must have the grace to accept the hospitality of others.
But we must be mindful that we do not abuse our neighborβs hospitality or take advantage of his kindness.
To overstay anotherβs hospitality is to forget that we have been shown grace by both our neighbor and God.
And when we lose sight of dignity, pride takes over and seeds grievance.
Lord, thank You for working through the kindness of those around me.
I am reminded of Your grace when others are gracious toward me.
Guard my mind against the sin of pride so that I may respect my neighborβs space and not abuse his kindness.
Instill a thankful heart, so I do not leave my neighbor bitter toward me.
In Jesusβ name, Amen.
