The true “Israel of God, ” the “spiritual Israel, ” is that remnant of faith within national Israel whom God has elected and reserved for himself. These understand that circumcision of the flesh avails nothing in itself, but is only an outward sign of God’s special covenant with Israel. They understand that circumcision of the heart, that is the new birth, is what counts.💥

O God, You will not break your covenant with Your people Israel whom you have chosen. And You will not break your promises to your Church, either. Both Jews and Gentiles are one in Your Church, having one Lord, one faith, one hope. We do not seek to rob Your people Israel of their special promised blessings and leave them only the curses; but we rejoice that there is an “Israel of God” and that we share with them a common faith and Savior. Amen.🙏
