Lord ~

The older I get, the more I embrace the joy of being selective! Life is bursting with options and opportunities, and choosing wisely is an exciting adventure. As it beautifully reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:23, “Someone may say, ‘I’m allowed to do anything,’ but not everything is helpful. I’m allowed to do anything, but not everything encourages growth.” It’s like discovering that while many things aren’t necessarily wrong, they may not be essential for our journey! Once we grasp this, we can navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace.

Knowing where we’re headed gives us incredible focus. We can tune out distractions and prioritise what truly matters—setting our sights on things that have an eternal impact. It’s terrific to recognise what is most important and select the good things that enrich our lives!

Jesus was a brilliant example of this focus. His life was a beautiful testament to living with intention, allowing him to fully dedicate himself to God’s kingdom and delight in pleasing his Father. Luke 9:51 tells us that he “moved steadily toward Jerusalem with an iron will.” His unwavering focus empowered him to face challenges and fulfil his purpose, even in adversity!

The Apostle Paul echoed this spirit with his commitment to “this one thing I do,” not getting bogged down by many distractions. He poured himself into the most important mission!

Just imagine the incredible potential you have to be used by God! Sometimes, the only thing holding us back is not settling on what truly matters. If you don’t have time to serve God, it might be a sign to refocus. If you find yourself scrolling on social media more than diving into a relationship with God, it’s time to shift gears. Remember, the Bible tells us, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).

So, let’s embrace this joyful journey together! One day, we’ll stand before God and be thrilled to share what we did with the opportunities we were given. Let’s focus on what brings us closer to Him and experience the joy of a purpose-driven life!
