DO YOU R E A L L Y LOVE ME?” a poem December 27, 2019 (Friday)
[Limerick: TODAY is the rest of your life / Thank GOD if you’ve got you a wife / And, especially when / She’s a sweet, outdoor hen / Who chasesYou withHer carving knife.]
Do you hear THE QUESTION often through the week?
“DO YOU REALLY LOVE ME?” ’til it makes you freak?
The one who’s asking (obviously) has the question on HER (his) MIND,
And may not even be too sure if asking it’s that kind,
But can not help HERSELF (himself); the question “pushes out.”
You hear IT. Do you laugh at it? or does it make you pout?
Is it just rhetorical? IT MAYBE HAS NO ANSWER,
Especially when each of us tends to treat SWEET LOVE like cancer,
And each of us has our own definition of what WE THINK LOVE IS,
Or WE HAVE NO IDEA, and we’re in the middle of “a tiz,”
Because we CAN’T IMAGINE our LOVER could REALLY love us,
When we maybe don’t think we love ourselves, so we want to make a fuss,
And see what HER (his) reaction is, so who knows why we ask.
May I suggest that, perhaps, WHAT LOVE IS may be MY blessed task.
Well, (here it is) when you think about HER (him) do you feel funny?
Is SHE (he) someone you really care about? Would you give all your money,
Just to see HER (him) happy? Are you quite excited,
By just hearing HER (his) sweet voice or even being invited,
To spend a few, fine moments gazing deeply into HER (his) eyes?
When you wake up in the morning are you met with the surprise,
That someone YES, so elegant and beautiful and kind,
Loves YOU or even says they do, and they’re gentle on your mind?
Or maybe your mind is sparkling with passion and your heart is beating true.
IF SO, I think that you can safely say these words: “I’m crazy in love with you.”
And, when your Sweet Beloved asks you FOR THE MILLION th time,
“Do you REALLY LOVE ME?” Well, you can write a rhyme,
One of your own just to say, “I LOVE YOU; YES, I DO.”
“Love is quite an amazing feeling; say, say this: “Yes, (pause) I love you too.”

‘I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU’
Limerick: The woman of my dreams ISN’T HERE / ‘Cause, when others attack me, it’s clear, / Since they give me no rise / Even if they kiss me between the eyes / THE ONLY ONE FOR ME is YOU, Dear.
