“SIGNS!” a poem August 11, 2019 (Sunday)
Bif and Buffie were on-the roller coaster one day,
Watching signs (like):
“BEWARE, IT-WON’T-LAST!” and “THERE-MUST-BE ANOTHER-WAY!”
Now, “Buf” is reading each sign message as-they rock-‘n’-roll along,
And “Bif” is-singing A-CAREFREE, HAPPY-SONG,
While Buf -is-crying: “Oh-no!”-next-sign: “YOU’RE-SURE-T’-BREAK-UP!”
Then, “HE’S CHEATING, THAT ROTTEN MAN,
ALTHOUGH-HE’S-A COMMITMENT PHOBIC PUP!”
And-Bif is just SINGING! and-SMILING, as-if-nothing’s-wrong,
And-She-says: “Stop-being-happy, you-bastard! Your-‘face’-should-be-LONG,
For: We-SURELY, we-surely (Stop calling me Shirley!) Can’t-Last!”
Next-sign: “REMEMBER, ALWAYS-REMEMBER YOUR-BLOODY-PAST!”
And-then Bif! He-kisses-her, as-he-covers-her-eyes,
So SHE sees no more signs, and HE hears her sweet sighs!
And-she-says: “I-love-you, Bif! and I always-always-will!”
Moral: “A-wicked-and-adulterous-generation-‘reads’-signs!”
I-HEAR-THEE-TELL!*
