I have always known that Kellie was unique, but today confirmed it. A Wedge-tailed Eagle flew over and started to circle above the mob.
Kellie immediately started clucking, calling the smaller joeys, and got them all safely under cover, where they stayed beside her until the Eagle flew off.
It was amazing to watch!
And what was fascinating was that the other mums stayed where they were, and none of them called their joeys to them.
It was like Kellie communicated to them that she had it under control.
I was annoyed with myself for not having my phone on me to video it.
The fact that Kellie is a hand-raised kangaroo makes it all the more special.
She instinctively knew that the joeys were in danger.
I’m so proud of my girl.
