In earlier hearings, that boy described to the court how Porter groomed and molested him after he began doing Australian rules football training with him.

They included grooming a child, using a child to create child exploitation material, and maintaining a sexual relationship with a child under 12.

His offending took place between 2015 and 2018.

The court is yet to rule on his version of the incidents, and he is not due to be sentenced until February.

In the meantime, he has been free in the community on bail.

But on Monday he formally asked the ACT Supreme Court to send him to prison so he could start the clock on his sentence, saying he believed he would be spending time in jail.

Justice Chrissa Loukas Karlson agreed:

“It is inevitable a sentence of full-time imprisonment will be imposed,” she said.

“Revoking his bail is the right thing to do.”

Two corrections officers took Porter away.

The charge of maintaining a sexual relationship with a child carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in the ACT if it involves more than one act.

Although Porter has pleaded guilty, he is still disputing details of his offences against one of the boys.

Porter has denied some of the boy’s allegations.
