#AceHistoryReport – Jan.25: The Apple Macintosh was the first commercially successful computer to use a Graphical User Interface (GUI), which allowed users to interact with electronic devices using familiar icons and visual indicators rather than just text.

#AceHistoryDesk says according to Collections in Science Museum News Report: Apple Macintosh personal pre-production model made in U.S in 1984

The computer was based on the Motorola 68000 microprocessor. This preproduction model was supplied to a major motoring company for assessment trials.
