“A JEALOUS GOD!” a poem, in the ever-popular series: “It’s a God Thang!” Freya’s Day: September 6, 2019
( GOD – came to me Screaming! Yesterday! [Thursday!] )
“IF YOU DON’T STOP IT, I ‘ M GONNA DO SOME- THING!
‘Cause I’M-GOD!!!! me! me! me! I’m JEALOUS! and I-CAN-bring:
FAMINE! and PESTILENCE! and-increased-gas-prices,
To-make-your HAUGHTY HEADS bow,
But GOD was just stuck! in-A-Field, talking with-a-cow!
And THE COW, chewing its cud – simply said: “MOO!”
“You’re A COW! Dang it!” said God; “what-am-I ever to do,
For, it appears, I now can’t tell the difference between a cow and a man!”
EVIDENTLY, THERE MAY NOT BE MUCH DIFFERENCE NOW,
Given “The-Divine Plan!”
For, when a beast and YOU are difficult to clearly see,
Perhaps Odysseus has landed, on “The Perilous Beach – of The Vile Witch “Cir-ce,”
Who has changed all his men – into four-footed beasts!
Well, it’s TRUE! WE SEEM TO REVEL NOW – IN ALL OUR FEASTS,
Singing: “Merry We Will Be!” and “Prosperity’s Just Around The Corner!”
Perhaps, The Face of God – shines brightest,
Upon The Sincerest Mourner!
